The Network Trailer

Text zum Film

It's not a website. It's not an Internet forum. It's not spray, beta, or slander.
It's all those things.

This year, Red Bull and Chuck Fryberger Films have teamed up to bring you a glimpse inside an elite network of some of the best climbers in the world - climbers who live to push their limits on the hardest climbs in the world. They are all connected in a constant cycle of training, competition, and outdoor challenges. The Network connects both past and present – bouldering, sport, and competition climbing – and this cutting-edge film tangles the viewer inside the spider web of connections that makes up the world of the professional rock climber. Join 6-time world cup champion Kilian Fischhuber as he and the best in the game explore areas old and new for adventures, lifestyle, and some of the sickest moves in the world.

Video: Eiger Nordwand - Versuch in der Russen Route

In March 2013 Ross Kain, Andy Kirkpatrick and Neil Chelton attempted to repeat the 2006 Russain route on the Eiger North face. Over 4 days they climbed 20 pitches, until they were stopped by the crux A5 pitch, as well as warm weather (increased stonefall).

Video: Adam Ondra in FA of Change, the world's first 9b+

Adam Ondra making the first ascent of Change, the world's first 9b+

Last summer, Black Diamond athlete Adam Ondra made a highly productive trip to Hanshalleren, a massive granite cave outside the small town of Flatanger, Norway. Adam not only made short work of the cave's established hard routes (including onsighting two routes graded 5.14c/8c+), he made the first ascent of Thor's Hammer (5.15a/9a+) and bolted a futuristic project out the steepest section of the cave. On October 4, Adam managed to link this 55-meter-long beast, establishing Change, the world's first route graded 5.15c/9b+. Along with his recent first ascent of La Dura Dura in Oliana, Spain, Change stands as one of, if not the hardest route in the world.

Video: Teaser vom Petzl RocTrip Argentina 2012

The first Petzl RocTrip was launched in Millau, France in 2002. Since then, Petzl has been organizing this gathering of climbers at exceptional sites around the world.

In 2012, for the 10th anniversary of the Petzl RocTrip, we are heading to the Piedra Parada site in Argentina. In this wild and arid landscape, the singular 200-meter monolith and meandering La Buitrera Canyon have seduced our route-finders.

As every year since 2002, the Petzl RocTrip has been an opportunity to come together for a shared passion in a friendly atmosphere.
